Elizabeth Hawley will discuss the work of EMVAN and opportunities for artists to practice in the East Midlands.

Curator, Andrew Barber will talk about his experience of working for The National Trust and the role of a Curator.

Writing history for academic and other readerships: three perspectives
Midday-1pm

In this session, Helen Smith will be talking about writing and publishing a first academic monograph, Laura Fernandez-Gonzalez on collaborative written and digital projects and Paul Stephenson on writing academic history for non-academic readers.

The Role of Management within Heritage – IBCC

Nicky Barr and Chris Heighton will discuss developments and opportunties within heritage through the International Bomber Command Centre projects in Lincolnshire.

Lynda Crosby from Careers and Employability will be discussing the structure and type of schemes available along with the application process.

Historic England – A Career in Ruins?

East Midlands Regional Director for Historic England Anthony Streeton will discuss different roles within Historic England and his own career path.

Video, Photography and Animation company Electric Egg discuss the use of a showreel within the application process and top tips.

Tim Hartley, Editor at Morton’s Media, will discuss careers within magazine publishing and his own career path.

Stu the Copywriter

In this talk Stu will discuss the copywriting process and his experience working with some of the largest and most creative ad agencies in the UK including world wide famous campaigns such as Monty the penguin by John Lewis and Vinne the panda from Fox’s biscwits.

A Career in Architecture

John Assael will discuss his specialism area and career progression. His particular interest in architecture is in designing mixed used schemes in urban areas, many of which include important listed buildings or are in conservation areas.

Creative CVs and Portfolios

Web and Print Design Agency Brand Four will discuss creative CVs and applications from their experience of recruiting designers.
